I wanted to take a break from discussing mortgage rates today to briefly emphasize the value of working with the right loan officer to close your loan. This can be harder than you might think – there are so many loan officers vying for your business that it might be overwhelming at first. Of course make low rates your priority, but working with a good loan officer can be the difference between a speedy and transparent loan process, and one rife with issues. For one, the wrong loan officer could take down your information innacurately, lose track of crucial documents, or take longer to get back to you than you’d like. As borrowers know, when you want to jump on low rates to secure your dream home, you don’t want to wait!

I encourage you to find out all you can about a given loan officer (and mortgage company, of course) to make sure they won’t let you down.
